ENIC 2017 is the fourth in a series of international conferences focusing on computational models and analysis methods for social and other types of networks. In addition to the techniques and algorithms, ENIC also encompasses an application perspective addressing the adaptation and integration of methods to tackle complex real-world problems and challenges.
ENIC 2017 will be held in Duisburg (Germany), September 11 - 12. The conference will be hosted by the Unversity of Duisburg-Essen and particulary by the Research Training Group on "User-Centred Social Media" (UCSM) in the Department of Computer Science and Applied Cognitive Science. The University of Duisburg-Essen (UDE) is located in the Ruhr area, the traditional region of the "heavy industries" in North-Western Germany. Nowadays this region is characterized by a blend of modern developments and transformations of the old industrial heritage. Created in 2003 by the merger of the universities of Duisburg and Essen, UDE is the youngest university in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and one of the ten largest universities in Germany (around 40000 students). The Duisburg Campus is well connected: Duesseldorf Airport can be reached in about 20 minutes, Frankfurt and Amsterdam in about two hours by fast trains.
